Merry Christmas!

Jack has had a big month! He is growing like a little weed! At his 3 week weigh in, Jack had gained 2 more pounds! He's definitely an eater! Jack also celebrated his very first Christmas and met a lot more family members. The Perperas family on Christmas Eve! On another note, we were very thankful Jack had multiple Christmas outfits, as we averaged 2-3 outfits per day due to diaper change mishaps!

Another first for Jack was his first bottle! After reading so many books, I was expecting for this to be a difficult transition. However, our little guy is an eater and did not mind the bottle at all!

We also had a big snow storm a week before Christmas.

Enjoying some tummy time...

Jack is here!!

Jack Ryan has arrived! He was born November 29, 2009 at 10:29am. He weighed 7 lbs and 9 oz and measured 20 inches long. The delivery went pretty quick, and Nick was a wonderful coach. We have enjoyed every second of getting to know our new son and we can't wait to introduce him to all of our family and friends. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the hospital.

Happy Halloween!!

It might seem a little odd to paint my belly like a pumpkin, but we figured, when else would my belly actually be the size of a pumpkin at Halloween!? So, Nick practiced his artistic skills on me and Jack! The countdown to Jack’s arrival is in full effect! Currently, we have about 5 weeks until the little guy’s due date of December 5th. We’ve been working hard to prepare our home for his arrival. Who would have thought such a tiny person would require so much preparation and room!! Here are some pictures of our recent showers and progress on the nursery.

Nick is growing more confident in his handy-man skills, as he's had many opportunities to put them to work!

At our Bridgeport shower, guests decorated a onesie with fabric markers. It was a really fun activity and needless to say, we had some very creative guests!! We also played "The Price is Right" with baby items, which was slightly depressing to learn the actual cost of some baby necessities!
Nick came by at the end of shower, just in time to feel a kick or two.
The Bridgeport party planners! Auntie Melissa, Grandma Perp, and Aunt Linda threw a beautiful shower!
Danielle, Julie, and Abbey made it to the shower!
This is a picture of the whole Davis family at the Hurricane shower.

Ashley and Lindsay helped throw the shower in Hurricane.

Phyllis, Aunt Martha, and Grace were also party planners for the shower. The shower was so beautiful- over the top! Some of the activities at the shower included writing poems for Jack and playing present BINGO. Everyone had a great time and the food was delicious- Grace knows my very picky taste, so the buffet included chicken fingers and cheese sticks!!
We've been through every milestone together, so it only made sense that Grace was there to help celebrate my pregnancy.
Ashley made our DELICIOUS cake!

Fall Fun!

September proved to be a busy month for the Perperas family! We started working on Jack's nursery, which turned out to be a bigger task than we had planned! On the plus side, it gave Nick a chance to show off his handyman skills, as he assembled the crib all by himself! We owe a big thanks to Mom and Dad Perperas for their gift of Jack's beautiful furniture!

Usually, it would be a woman’s worst nightmare to show up to her 10 year high school reunion weighing in with an extra 25 pounds! However, I was more than happy to show off our new addition. Here is a picture of me with my oldest and dearest friend, Grace, having some fun at the reunion dinner. Grace did a WONDERFUL job planning the event!

Nick was a great sport throughout the weekend. He and Justin became the designated banner hangers for each event!
We also made a quick trip up to Pittsburgh to visit my roommate from WVWC, Danielle, and her husband Chuck. Their son, Charlie, was born September 1st. It was great to meet their little guy, and start planning some future play dates!

Nick got a chance to practice his "holding technique." The best advice he got was to hold him like a football.

Thinking ahead...

We recently registered for all of our "baby gear." As you can see from the pictures below, Nick enjoyed registering too! I think Nick's a little too excited to have Jack take over lawn duty!

We've got a kicker!

It’s been a busy few weeks for the Perperas family! We’ve been busy with weddings, house projects, and of course preparing for our little guy! We have decided to name our little boy Jack Ryan. We both loved the name Jack, and Ryan is Michael’s (Nick’s brother) middle name. Speaking of Jack, he has started kicking! It’s been such a thrill for me to feel these signs of life! As many of you know, I tend to be a worrier, so these kicks really help to keep my worries at bay. Nick can’t feel them quite yet, but I know he will very soon. This is a picture of me at almost 22 weeks.

About 5 years ago, Mommal Charlene taught me to knit. It’s been fun to put my meager knitting skills to work for Jack! I began knitting a baby blanket about a year and half ago and finally finished it! (Glad I started it so long ago! Haha) I also found a super easy knitting pattern for a little hat! I thought it turned out really cute! I just hope it fits him!

It's a BOY!!!!

We recently had an ultrasound last Thursday night, where we discovered this baby is no doubt a boy! Nick and I were lucky enough to have my mom and his parents there for the whole ultrasound (My dad, Jeff, wasn't able to make it due to work). Our baby boy was very shy at first, and had his little foot right in between his legs. Our technician was amazingly patient, and kept giving the baby time to readjust. While we waited for him to move his foot, we learned that he has 2 legs, 2 arms, 10 fingers, 2 kidneys, 4 chambers in his heart... and the list went on! It was absolute music to my ears to hear such a great report! Finally, our little one readjusted and it was clear he was all boy!

Since receiving the big news that our precious baby is boy, I suddenly find myself looking at the world through the eyes of a mother to a son. There is MUCH to look forward to!!!!

Above is a picture of our little guy, who is giving us a "thumbs up"! He must know his mom is a worrier, so he's letting us all know he's doing just fine!

My old roommate and sorority sister Danielle, (below) is due in September. We took this "belly shot" at our friend's wedding this weekend. She is having a boy as well, and we think they will be best buds!

Nick and me at 19 weeks!
